Hanna Beck – Head of Design

The white satin is our canvas on which artworks are created.

Hanna Beck is a passionate textile designer. She has been part of the design team since 2012 and took over the management of the atelier in 2018 - always with an eye for precision craftsmanship. For Hanna Beck, Christian Fischbacher stands for sophisticated luxury, the highest quality, an unmistakable signature and attention to detail in Swiss design combined with over 200 years of textile history that will write the future. Her passion is painting and drawing by hand: ‘Which artist is lucky enough to be able to “paint” on one of the finest cotton fabrics in the world?’ she says proudly. In 2022, the designer and her family moved into a former weaver’s cottage nestled in the picturesque region of Appenzell. During the restoration of the 19th century building, textile designs were found on the walls - ‘This closes the circle and the textile tradition lives on,’ says a delighted Hanna Beck.

The art of designing bed linen

It is a privilege to design bed linen. The fact that the Christian Fischbacher customer comes into contact with their bed linen for six to eight hours every night emphasises its importance. It is something special to be able to accompany the customer so closely in this personal area. Bed linen is also a very special product. The bedroom should be cosy and the designs should have a calming effect. Nevertheless, colours and patterns can play a role. Creating the twist here is a challenge and motivation in equal measure.

Fischbacher as a trendsetter in design - design is teamwork

Anything can inspire! We use the internal archives as well as social media, go to trade fairs, take part in trend seminars, subscribe to interior design magazines from all over the world and visit various exhibitions. We also go on inspirational trips to important fashion metropolises and -of course- soak up inspiration wherever we are in our free time. The designer's eye is sharpened accordingly. I consider the exchange within the team to be particularly valuable and inspiring. We develop new ideas in a relaxed exchange with each other and optimise our designs as a team.

Hanna Beck about...

My sleeping style: In Fischbacher, of course. And always with earplugs.
My bedtime reading: Novels of all kinds. I like to read a lot, mainly on my eReader.
Dreamscapes: I rarely remember the content of dreams, but I like to take the positive feeling that is sometimes there in the morning with me as a companion through the day.
Alternative sleeping spots: Sleeping under the open sky in a sleeping bag is always special. Spending the night in a capsule hotel in Tokyo was also something unique.
Sleeping tips: Meditation, melatonin and a short diary entry for reflection at the end of the day.

My favorite Design

The RHYTHM bed linen, with its generously proportioned design, radiates modern elegance and reveals a remarkable delicacy of detail at the same time. The soft colour scheme lends this design its harmonious softness.
